CLIMATE:

The province lies outside the typhoon belt. The province does not have a pronounced dry season although rainfalls at its maximum from November to January.

TRANSPORTATION:

By Land-Buses and L300 Van ply the Davao City-Mati routes daily
By Sea-municipal and private ports are located in Mati and Baganga
By Air-has one aitport with a concrete runway that streches 1,600 meters. It can accommodate both light jet and cargo planes.
Communications:

All municipalities through out the province have a main post office to handle all mails and other postal services. In Mati, private cargo and mails forwarding services are also available.

The diocese of mati owns an AM radio station, DXHM and a Cable Station Called Trinity Cable Network.

Three other cable companies are serving selected municipalities in the East Coast namely Caraga Cable Television System. YCK and the Barangay Poblacion Cable Televion.

Radio Natin FM Stations operating under the manila Broadcasting Corporation are strategically located in Boston, Gov. Generoso, Lupon, Manay, Mati, Tarragona, Cateel and Banaybanay.

Telecommunications systems in selected municipalities are provided by PhilCom Corp. and Mati Telephone Company (MTC). Both companies offer NDD and IDD calls. Mobile Phones (SMART and GLOBE) Cell Site in selected municipalities also accessible.
There are eleven (11) separately established public calling offices under the Municipal Telephone Program of DOTC and the Provincial Law Enforcement Communication System of the LGU in the province.
