In
compliance with the Arroyos administration, per DILG memorandum
circular no. 2002-91, the City Government of Malaybalay will launch
its website on September 2002.
The
launching of the Citys website is also a requirement of the
League of Cities of the Philippines as part of the city development
strategy (CDS).
With
our own website, we are at pace with the globalization trend and
have become a part of the global village, enabling the City to cope
with the fast paced development of information technology and capacitate
our own local government unit to have the mechanism of exchange
with other LGUs, cities, countries and the rest of the world.
The
City Government developed the website containing the Citys
socio-economic profile and basic services. It also features the
City Government, its elected and appointed officials, departments
and personnel, organizational structure and functions and other
pertinent data regarding the LGU, including tourism.
We
have also included a webpage for Banwag in hope to make available
news on the Citys activities and other developmental undertakings.
It also will receive feedback on-line.
The
website would greatly contribute to our efforts on investment and
tourism promotions as this allows the whole country and later, the
global community, to know more about the City and its potentials.
Having
a website also allows us to access of funds and other financial
assistance we may need for the sustained development of our City,
it also allows us linkages not just with our constituents but with
the national government agencies, investors and the private sector
and financial institutions.
Soon,
we hope to serve on-line applications for licenses, business permits
and Civil Registry matters. I believe this will greatly effecting
easier and faster processing of documents
