Manolo Fortich has three major river systems crisscrossing the upstream and downstream agricultural lands. These are the Tagoloan, Mangima and Agusan RIvers, which serve as natural boundaries and drainage of excess water and run-off from around the municipality. The other rivers of the municipality are, among others: Dicklum, Kumaykay, Guihian, Tasaon and Kulaman Rivers. The river systems also serve as sources pf potable water supply for domestic use. About 26 creeks spread across 9 barangays in the municipality.

Forest areas in Manolo Fortich are found in 2 barangays along the Mt. Kitanglad Range. Mt. Kitanglad hosts a diverse species of flora and fauna, many of them rare and endemic, making it a potential for tourism and bio-diversity research.

The major metallic mineral found in he municipality is chromite and the non-metallic includes semi precious stones. Also available are clay, limestone, feldspar, silica quartz and schist.

The most dominant plantation crop in the municipality is pineapple, cultivated by the Del Monte Phils. Inc. covering 4,540 hectares. This represents 26.5% of the agricultural area. Other plantation crops are coffee, cacao, mandarin and cashew by MENZI Corporation. Cut flowers like anthurium and roses. Fruits like rambutan, mango and banana. Other products are corn, cassava and rice. Livestock and poultry farms in he municipality consist of 18 poultry farms, 9 piggeries, 4 cattle ranches and three hatcheries. The biggest cattle ranch is the Del Monte Feed LOt, which can house an average of 9,500 to 13,000 heads at one time.

Inland fishing is also existing in an aggregate area of 1,282 ha. mostly situated in backyards and farm areas with water sources like springs, creeks, rivers, and irrigation canals.

While eateries, restaurants andheepney operation is common to the locality, retailing is the predominant type of business.

 

The newly developed apples and strawberries at northern Kitanglad Agricultural Corpoartion, Kalugmanan and Mindanao Vegetable Production Multipurpose Cooperative in Kumaykay River Valley. Dahilayan, offers specialties where one can appreciate agricultural ventures of commercial scale-producing exotic farm products.

The 350-ha MENZI Agricultural Farms located in Barangay Damilag, which has a view deck where one can view th whole municipality. It also offers a soothing escape from everyday pressures because of its serene and peaceful ambiance. Farms products include king mandarin oranges, pineapples, cut flowers, coffee and cacao.

The RPA Ventures Inc., a 14-ha area located in Barangay Sto. Nino. It is engaged in cut flower production and i home to anthurium blooms of different Holland varieties.

The vast agricultural Magic Farms and Helms Farm, located in Barangay Dahilayan, is devoted to different agricultural experimentation. Farm produce ranges from fruits like grapes, banana, and jackfruit and even freshwater fish and swine production.

The Acosta farms, located in barangays Alae, San Miguel, Calanawan and Sankaran, is devoted to production of varities of fruits like rambutan, durian, cherries and banana.
